As women, every now and then we just need a frivolous shopping trip. That kind of shopping trip to pick up a few things that we absolutely do not need, but that make us smile. Most of my trips are for more staple or necessity items. It’s not that I don’t love those trips too, but buying a basic black everyday bag is so much less exciting than a fun, pastel lavender tote!

I was recently in Virginia for work and had some time to kill in the Potomac Mills Mall. The shopping center was really interesting. It’s like half outlet shops and half regular stores. They did have a Neiman Marcus Last Call, Saks Off 5th, and Nordstrom Rack, which provided some pretty amazing finds!

I’m on an earring kick lately. I think in the last months I’ve purchased more statement earrings than I have in my lifetime. I picked up 4 on this shopping trip and I’m loving them all. Especially, the beaded gold discs. I’ve seen them on a few different blogs and fell in love, but could never pull the trigger. When I saw them in Neiman Marcus Last Call on sale I knew I needed them.

Another blogger fav find was the Circus by Sam Edelman tassel sandals. I saw them months ago, but wasn’t ready to start buying summer shoes yet. I saw them on a few bloggers that live in warmer climates and was supper jealous. I found them at Saks off 5th for $25! I couldn’t pass them up. They’re so comfy and feel great on. I can’t wait for the weather to warm up and allow me to style them for a day by the shore.

The bag was the largest purchase, but I still got a great deal on it! I’ve liked the M.A.B tote from Rebecca Minkoff for quite some time. When walking around Neiman Marcus Last Call, I saw that they had a row of M.A.B bags; the one that caught my eye was the pale lavender bag. I couldn’t decide whether I needed it or not. I knew if I didn’t buy it, I’d think about it and regret it later and would’t be able to just go back out and buy it. My motto while shopping is “when in doubt, buy it and save the receipt.” I’m really happy I did buy it because it is such a unique color and so perfect for spring!
